Anats S.A supports The Greek Action of Volunteer Veterinarians (EDKE)

Our company Anats Health Products, in conjunction with the recent disasters in Attica, supports the great effort and assistance of the EDKE to the firefighters and not just areas for the care of the animals that need the help of all of us.
After contacting the association's board of directors, we offered a large amount of pharmaceutical care products at their premises, which will enhance the effort of the Voluntary Action of Veterinarians in Greece to treat the animals in need.
A collaboration that will continue until stray animals stop being considered a "sore" and gain the place they deserve in the heart of all Greeks.

The disclosure of the great fire in Attica a few days ago and the first images of destruction triggered our sensitivity to direct offer at a crucial point so that we could offer ourselves in our turn that it was possible in the effort of the people in the fire zone and were faced with problem from within.

By listening to the fact that much of our fellow citizens have expressed their determination to make an immediate offer to those who have been affected, we have thought that we should turn to a point where fewer looks and less help (with regard to humanitarian aid) just the urgent need.

This is no different from the care of the animals they suffered, and these in turn the fire, resulting in many of them losing their lives, some of them lost to the families and people they lived with, but to underline that everything they lost their habitat and could not survive without human help.

Immediately we came in contact with Mr. Nikos Pavlopoulos, a member of the Association and a man with a great work in the care of animals all over the country. During our daily communication with Mr Pavlopoulos these days, we found him in the fire zone, looking for animals that had been injured or had remained in the affected areas and needed immediate transportation and care.

Because of a justified workload and due to the large volume of our goods, he referred to the chairman of the Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ioannis Mpatsas, for the coordination of the delivery of the aids.

We immediately came into contact with him and routed the delivery of the goods to their premises.

A delivery that was made with the immediate response and consensus of Mr. I. Mpatsas.

There we met him and congratulated him on the huge work they offer to animals across the country.

He spoke to us and gave us some details of their action  and explained to us the great need that the association has in particular of medical materials companies.

We in turn commit ourselves to additional offers in the future and we emphasize that we will be next to them in the difficult task they perform, offering love and care to the animals we need, all of us!

Let's go see, for those who do not know, what is EDKE

GAVV Code of Operation

The Greek Action of Volunteer Veterinarians (EDKE)

Voluntary Action of Veterinarians of Greece (EDKE) is an independent, non-profit association.

The establishment of this association is the fruit of a mature thought of a group of gifted Greek veterinarians who, being sensitized by the situation in Greece, are aiming to contribute directly to its normalization by providing unpopular veterinary assistance to stray or wild animals in need of care or / and are excluded from veterinary care.

In addition, the club also aims at enhancing the animal's sense of affection, hoping that stray animals will cease to be considered a "sore" and will gain the place they deserve in the heart of all Greeks.

• takes action in the form of organized group missions, its members do not act alone
• does not undertake cases of privately owned pets
• examines, cares and operates only on stray and wild animals

Organizing a mission

EDKE takes action after

• an invitation from animal welfare associations, local authorities or other groups that aim to help animals
• its own initiative in areas that need veterinary attention

EDKE does not take action in areas where there are already organized and functioning programs of the municipality for the protection of stray animals under the auspices of local veterinarians. Where there is lack of such programs, EDKE takes action only in agreement with local veterinarians.

Mission Expenses and Space

The expenses of each mission are covered by the inviting party (animal welfare association, local authorities etc) and/or the sponsors of the mission. The expenses include the consumables which will be used as well as the travel, catering and accommodation expenses of the volunteers.

A mission is not undertaken until arrangements have been made by the inviting party for
• the financial coverage of the mission and
• an appropriate space where veterinary services will be provided. The space should fulfill the prerequisites to be temporarily licensed by the local Veterinary Authorities or the Office of Rural Development of the Municipality, according to the Law 4-39/12 for the action of volunteer veterinarians.

Animals

A detailed record is kept for all animals treated by EDKE. The animals are recorded, photographed and kept under the responsibility of the contact person of the inviting party. The neutered animals are marked by an ear-cut.
